Pearson Curriculum K-12 digital solutions team serves the public, private and charter school communities in a designated district territory. The account executive''s role is to prospect, qualify and build relationships with new customers, and retain and extend those relationships with our existing client base. The ideal candidate will be an experienced sales professional, able to promote the value sales model, within the education industry. A thorough understanding of curriculum, instructional objectives, state standards and legislative requirements for schools is Vital to the success of this role, as well as a working knowledge of the relevant grants and funding environment. Experience with sales pipeline and forecasting, competitive intelligence, and strong technology affinities are essential qualities for this role. This position requires the account executive to become well versed in the product , beyond basic features and benefits as they work closely with customers to determine the optimal solutions to meet the needs of teachers, administrators and most importantly, the students. The account executive will maintain a home office and must spend a minimum of four days in the field working with customers, be self directed and focused on the achievement of revenue goals.
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a formal education, college degree or the equivalent in experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to develop an extensive, in depth understanding of a complex product and market. Previous sales or educational experience is essential. Familiarity with sales and purchasing cycles as they relate to school district, Title I and other Federal funding guidelines will present a strong advantage. The company markets high-end, niche products that requiring a long sales cycle. Account Executives must be highly self-motivated and focused on long-term success. .A conscientious, detail-oriented mindset and approach is required for success in this position. A professional yet friendly customer service attitude will enhance the candidate''s ability to perform well and grow within this service-oriented company.
