Currently HGL has a position open for a Senior Scientist / Engineer, to work in the San Antonio, TX office.
Minimum of BS in Engineering or Geology. MS preferred. PE or PG required. 10+ years of directly related experience.
Job Description: The successful candidate will manage and support environmental and engineering projects involving soil and groundwater remediation activities at existing and former federal sites. Specific duties will include writing cost proposals for FFP, PB, and T&M projects, developing planning documents, monitoring budgets and schedules, and procuring and directing subcontractors and vendors. Project tasks will include designing and implementing environmental field investigations; supervising field crews responsible for operation and maintenance of active remediation systems and for performing environmental and hydrogeologic characterization; interpreting and summarizing field and analytical data; evaluating and optimizing remedial systems; and preparing technical reports. Some travel is required.

Job Requirements

Other Requirements: MS Office Suite including Project. Experience with GIS, AutoCad, and database management systems are a plus. Must have strong project management, supervisory, and written and oral communication skills, and be able to interact with clients, plus experience with (1) design and conduct of field investigations at RCRA/CERCLA sites, including sampling of groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment; (2) multiple remediation technologies, including but not limited to groundwater pump and treat and SVE/biovent systems; (3) data analysis and interpretation; (4) a broad range of contaminants; and (5) FFP contracts and PBCs with the USACE, DoD, EPA, and/or DOE. Experience designing remediation systems with PRB and/or reductive dechlorination a plus. Drug test required. Must be US Citizen.
