Seeking a Senior AIX UNIX Server System Administrator.

Tasks:
- Determining user and system demands, establishing priorities, and planning and performing work
- Providing AIX UNIX server system administration, including data backups and recovery
- Providing reliable and efficient delivery applications.
- Evaluating system status, system utilization and implements changes to improve efficiency
- reliability, and disaster recovery.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for system administration on AIX UNIX platforms.
- Functions as recognized expert on AIX UNIX maters both inside and outside the department
- Installs, support and maintains multiple networks and connected equipment for diverse functional groups
- Performs hardware and operating system level problem identification and resolution to support Client requirements.
- Installs software and user utilities for modifications and upgrades of operating systems and workstation environments.
- Acts as a liaison with manufacturers and vendors of software and application products and clients
- Diagnosis problem and resolution.
- Plans and executes software version upgrade releases and custom interfaces
- Maintains service accounts with the proper security, login IDs, and email, and maintains NIS, NFS, DNS, and automount process
- Develops, implements and maintains proper backup procedures and disaster recovery plan
- Supports team members, management, and clients on questions and problems with hardware and software.
- Coordinates, installs, and maintains centralized network resources that connect the company's servers to the LAN and WAN
- Analyzes network traffic and protocols for potential problems and/or increasing performance of the network
- Measures and reports system availability statistics and resource utilization to Team Leader, management, and clients
- Recommends, schedules, budgets, and implements resource modifications and upgrades
- Acts as a liaison between clients and Information Systems for applications, needs, and support
- Researches state-of-the-art technology for enhancements to reliability, performance and functionality of the server environment
- Provides 24-hour on-call support, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Job Requirements
Candidate selected must have:
Bachelor's Degree preferred in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university or any combination of applicable education and AIX Unix server experience equal to five (5) years.
Minimum experience of five (5) years working with AIX UNIX servers.
