The Sacramento, CA office is seeking a senior CA licensed civil engineer (PE) that will serve as technical lead and/or project manager for environmental capping and mine reclamation projects, including investigations, design, permitting, construction management, and operations support. Work will include engineering calculations, storm water design, analysis of infiltration and slope stability, design detailing, report preparation, construction inspections, and civil engineering design for industrial and mine reclamation applications. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where safety is the #1 concern. Successful candidates will be experienced professionals with experience in the mine reclamation industry; solid waste industry experience will be considered. Requirements - experience with the permitting, design, construction, operation, performance evaluation, and closure of mining waste and/or municipal solid waste management facilities. Experience with design and construction of earthen or waste rock caps, storm water drainage systems for steep terrain, and mine reclamation-earthworks infrastructure is highly desirable.
Other position requirements:
Responsible for providing quality leadership and mentoring of junior technical staff.
Perform reviews of work performed by other engineers.
Manage contractors and sub-consultants.
Liaise with other technical specialists including hydrogeologists, geotechnical engineers, environmental assessment personnel, etc.
Ability to work at scoping study level or with detailed designs and construction aspects of projects.
Ability to multi-task between various strategic and tactical technical interrelated issues.
Proven experience with budgeting and cost forecasting.
Responsible for meeting project deadlines and budgets.
Superior communication and reporting skills with clients, management, and team members.
Experience in negotiation and management of contractual and commercial terms.
Work as an integral AECOM team member.
