Job Description
PB, in joint venture with URS, is providing expert professional Construction Management services as an extension of the Port Authority staff for construction of the World Trade Center Transportation (WTC) Hub and other Site projects and is also providing management oversight and coordination activities performed by other WTC site stakeholders.
A SENIOR COST ENGINEER opportunity now exists. This individual will: Develop Detail Budget Allocations from Capital Cost Estimates; participate in negotiations with multiple third party entities/stakeholders to gain their financial participation in project costs and provide on-going cost tracking and cost forecasting through overall WTC project completion and financial close-out.
Responsibilities:
Develop Budget Allocations in detail, on a line-by-line basis (to include all project costs, materials, manpower, and third party vendor costs); track actual expenditures at a lowest level of detail available to ensure maximum recovery of project costs based on third party agreements; provide regular, on-going cost reports to management; identify current issues and provide recommendations for corrective action; work closely with all parties to ensure cost accuracies; work with contemporary cost software systems and reference documentation that have been implemented on the Project; work closely with the Project Scheduling group to manage resource loading and earned value management systems; be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Primavera v3.
Job Requirements
BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent; minimum 7 -10 years cost engineering experience; fundamental knowledge of planning / scheduling; hands-on experience with cost and schedule risk analysis programs; excellent communication skills; strong collaborative problem solving skills; ability to perform within a highly matrixed, team based environment and certification in Cost Engineering will be a plus.
