Senior Demand Planner â€" Strategic Role
The Company operates a complex supply chain supporting three distinct types of product demand. The GSC Senior Demand Planner will:
- Plan unit demand rates for sell-through of capital assets, parts, and disposables to end customers in support of the sales revenue plan;
- Plan the fleet size needed across all product lines to support the revenue plan; This includes planning for all centers worldwide as well as for over 25 countries.

Use sophisticated algorithms and techniques to determine production and storage quantities to maintain high fulfillment rates while optimizing inventory levels.
Help coordinate new product launches worldwide.
As such, the Demand Planner will use appropriate planning models and will engage with internal customers of the supply chain (Sales, Marketing, Finance, Quality, and Service Operations) to develop an accurate demand plan for all three streams.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Downstream collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Service Operations to assess the impact of changes in the market or internal processes on the unit demand plan.

Participation in product life cycle planning with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Service Operations to determine unit demand during new product introductions, product maturity and end-of-life periods.

Downstream collaboration with Quality, R&D and Service Operations to identify asset uptime standards, spares consumption rates, and special repair projects.

Extracts, validates and controls demand data used for statistical forecasting.

Analyzes historical product demand patterns, trends and other business information in the development of monthly demand forecasts.

Tracks significant forecast-to-actual unit variances and recommends appropriate revisions to the demand plan.

Upstream collaboration with Sourcing, Manufacturing and Logistics to effectively align global supply with the demand plan of record.

Monitors supply and demand imbalances and communicates/escalates, as appropriate.
Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in forecasting, planning and execution of the demand/supply plan.

Works to drive supply chain performance with respect to SCOR metrics: supply chain reliability, responsiveness, flexibility, cost, and working capital efficiency.

Participates and provides data for both the pre-S&OP and executive S&OP meeting process.
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field.

Minimum of 5 years of demand planning or supply chain management experience.
Expertise with Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel + Access), expertise with Business Objects or similar business intelligence apps, familiarity with scripting SQL and VBA.

Must have strong demand planning background, as demonstrated by work experience or association with industry groups such as APICS, IBF, IIF, etc.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and deadlines.

Must posses solid presentation skills and written communication skills.

Ability to maintain complete confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment.

Knowledge of statistical forecasting techniques and demand planning applications such as Demantra, i2 Demand Manager, Manugistics, etc.
APICS or relevant professional planning association certification strongly preferred.
