FST has an opening in our Burlington, Massachusetts office for the following:
SENIOR ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL)
Typical duties include planning, scheduling, conducting and/or coordinating detailed phases of studies, investigations, design, and preparation of Contract Documents for electrical systems power, lighting, communications and sustainable elements and other components for public buildings, facilities, and transportation, environmental and utilities infrastructure and sustainable design. Must be able to perform work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include a variety of complex features such as conflicting design requirements and difficult coordination requirements. Work requires a broad knowledge of precedents in the electrical engineering and a good knowledge of principles and practices of related specialties. Will commonly be assigned as Project Engineer, Lead Technical Discipline Engineer or Project Manager on projects. Participates in various aspects of new Business Development including client meetings, client presentations, technical proposal preparation, and fee and schedule development. Participates in client and other external meetings and presentations. Responsible for writing part or all of the proposals and reports.
Job Requirements
- Must possess good technical and engineering design/planning skills, computer and financial/project management skills, as well as good verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Must have computer skills including design software, CADD and MS office
- Also must possess good relationship building and supervisory coaching skills.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering as well as 10 plus years experience required.
- Continuing education in project management and financial management/technical seminars/courses expected.
- PE required.
- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering desired.
- Participation in industry organizations and societies is expected.
- Continuing education in project management and financial management/technical seminars/courses expected.
- LEED AP is a plus.
- Experience with Sustainable Design, Energy Audits, Alternative Energy and Commissioning and is a plus.
