Job Description
Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Marketing Analyst will be responsible for conducting a variety of analysis and research activities to support strategic initiatives for KHE Brand and Strategic Marketing (branded campaigns). They will be expected to use SAS, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft PowerPoint, Access, and Excel as well as KU’s internal systems with precision and accuracy. They will also conduct research via the internet (department of education, bureau of labor statistics, bureau of economic analysis), analyst reports as well as any other relevant source. They must be comfortable with performing advanced analysis using SAS, writing analysis and requests for proposals that identify results of Marketing strategic initiatives and/or partnerships.
Responsibilities and Typical Activities:
Conducting analysis on prospects, leads, current students and general population Metrics will include conversion, retention, start rate, graduation, grade averages, etc Analyses will be examined by school, by degree type, by region and various other demographics Analyzing survey data and metrics (segmentation, brand positioning) and publications to identify trends Identify effectiveness and efficiency of marketing programs ROMI (Return of Marketing Investment) Conducting research on various subjects including competitive intelligence using the internet, analyst reports, etc. Conducting simulations and forecasts Working with IT to identify business requirements and conduct UA of marketing reports Performing various pricing and financial analyses (Price Elasticity/Point/Gap, DCF (Discounted cash flow), NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate of Return)) Creating requests for proposals and presentations for internal and external sources

Job Requirements
Required Experience:
3 to 5 years’ work experience with some experience in marketing and database marketing, media mix and pricing analysis College degree required, Masters preferred (MBA, MS, MA) Areas of concentration: Statistics, Applied Economics, Marketing Research / Science, Management Science, Media, Finance, Advertising, Mathematics, Management Information Systems Proven strong abilities with Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Access to conduct analysis and create presentations Strong willingness to learn one programming language (SAS preferred or SPSS) Customer relationship / experience marketing (CRM/CEM) experience a plus Marketing Mix Modeling / price elasticity analysis a plus Position Requirements /Scope of the Job/ Skills Required: Experience with creating and running various marketing/management science, multi-variate/applied statistical and financial models such as projections and return on marketing investment Ability to adapt to various computer applications and databases Interest in higher education and marketing/strategy Ability to manage internal relationships, set project plans, and meet deadlines Ability to resolve complex problems Ability to think strategically Ability to take direction and demonstrate organizational agility Higher education experience a plus Measurement of Success: The Senior Strategy Analyst will be evaluated based on (a) efficiency, accuracy and depth of analysis and research; (b) ability to work with internal teams to meet project deadlines; (c) professionalism with external institutions, and (d) attitude and enthusiasm.
