GENERAL SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced, skilled, and highly motivated individual to contribute to the research division in developing biological therapeutics for the treatment of cancer. The selected individual will manage a Protein Purification Core group, supervising a team of researchers. Requires an M.S. with 10 years of industry experience or a Ph.D. with 6 years of post-graduate work including 2 years of industry experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in antibody and protein purification, purification methods development and process scale-up, formulation development, protein characterization, protein expression, and drugability screening. Experience in other areas including epitope mapping and proteomics would be a plus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Manage all aspects of the Protein Purification Core group including: scheduling, tracking and reporting.
2. Plan and execute purification methods development, process drugability screening, and formulations development as well as develop research purification platforms.
3. Collaborate with research staff on projects critical to research division.
4. Maintain broad knowledge of state of the art techniques, principles and theories.
5. Contribute to scientific literature and conferences.
6. Serve as in-house consultant in specific areas of expertise.
7. Train technical staff and oversee the career development of reports.
8. Interact on a daily basis with directors and fellow staff members.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
1. Extensive experience in antibody and protein purification, purification methods development and formulations.
2. Extensive experience in biophysical and biochemical characterization of antibodies and proteins.
3. Ability to multi-task and work well within core group.
4. Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing objectives and deadlines.
5. Ability to effectively handle high through-put of various experiments while maintaining quality results.
