Senior Statistical Analyst - Mortgage LOB - Plano. TX

Capital One’s Plano, TX campus has multiple Statistical Analyst opportunities (Senior Associate - Senior Director) to support ourMortgage LOB. Lead statistical and analytical problem solving for a Capital One business area in order to improve profitability and the effectiveness of business decisions. Identify appropriate areas of opportunity to apply statistical methods within the business. Design statistical and analytical solutions and lead the development and implementation of those solutions. Advance the statistical capabilities of the business and Capital One overall. Do this through increased statistical knowledge, development of statistical capabilities, and incorporation of research into usable solutions. Lead and mentor other statistician associates.

Responsibilities depending on experience:

Analyzing data, building models and assessing their quality.
Creating business value by solving business problems using statistical and analytical methodologies.
Developing, implementing, documenting, and monitoring statistical models, both scoring models and valuation models.
Develop statistical competencies of others within the same line of business. Also work to develop overall stat competencies across Capital One. Teach and Mentor statistics.
Lead the statistical analysis associated with business projects.
Manage administrative tasks including personnel documentation
Potentially manage up to 4 people

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Statistics, Economics, or similar quantitative field of study
Proficiency with SAS or similar statistical programming package

Preferred Qualifications:

Doctorate in math or statistics
2+ Years experience in Statistical hands-on work
2+ Years experience in Project management
2+ Years experience in Credit risk modeling
2+ Years experience in Team leadership and associate development
