Job Description
Empire Investment Holdings is a private investment firm focused exclusively on the acquisition and strategic management of non-core business units from the Global 2000. Position is an integral part of a senior leadership team responsible for directing the business development and investment activities for the firm. The ideal candidate should have pre-existing relationships with the Fortune 1000 and the investment banking community. Position reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the M&A and business development department
- Manage and support the business development team in originating and generating leads to develop and maintain deal flow
- Responsible to build and enhance relationships with corporations and investment bankers
- Responsible for conducting comprehensive due diligence of prospective investment targets and report findings to the investment committee
- Ensure the effective management of the department, including strategic assessment, due diligence, financial modeling, risk assessment, deal structuring, deal documentation, negotiations and closings
- Provide strategic insight to the executive team on the firm’s investment targets and up-to-date market knowledge about relevant market developments
- Build the firm’s M&A and business development organization into a cost effective, high performance disciplined function
- Develop and implement department goals, policies and programs to reflect the desired standards of performance for the M&A and business development departments
- Coordinate the preparation of investment reports, special analyses on target opportunities, and informational market reports
- Meet regularly with the CEO and other executives to explain and discuss the M&A and business development activities of the firm
- Serve as a liaison with banks, corporations and investment banking firms, including public accountants and attorneys
- Train and manage the professional development of the M&A and business development staff

Job Requirements
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- MBA preferred
- Ten plus years experience with corporate finance, financial modeling, originating and executing corporate transactions globally and business development with corporations and investment bankers
- International experience, with a focus on Europe and Asia
- Experience as a senior level M&A executive with a proven track record of deal making
· Superior leadership and communication skills demonstrated in multiple environments
- Experience with legal transaction documents and negotiating transactions
- Highest level of integrity and able to handle and manage confidential information
- Work requires willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule
- Ten plus years of senior management experience
- Significant leadership abilities in team building and staff management experience with proven success in developing strong relationships with other executives
- High energy and enthusiasm to perform in a self-managed work environment
- A demonstrated ability to approach problem solving with creativity and innovation
- A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
- The ability to problem solve with all appropriate parties, regardless of their position within the firm
- The ability to synthesize information, use sound judgment, formulate conclusions, and articulate recommendations in a way that is meaningful and valuable
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
