Job Description
We have an immediate need for a Silicon Design Engineer/CPU Validation Architect.
Major Role: Lead the development of plans, methodologies, and strategies to ensure high levels of coverage and excellent product quality through post-silicon validation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the development of state-of-the-art validation methodologies and techniques for next generation products.Collaboratively develop test plans with input from Design and supporting teamsDefine HW and SW tools and targeted diagnostic to capture post silicon issues Understand Marketing needs to ensure "time to market" and quality are balancedIdentify program risks in terms of coverage, enablement and executionProvide technically detailed status reports
Silicon Validation Architects lead the development of plans, methodologies, and strategies to ensure high levels of coverage and excellent product quality through post-silicon validation.
Silicon/Feature Focused Validation Architect Responsibilities:Understand macro architecture of chip in question and as much of micro architecture as possible (both func and electrical)Engage with Design and Verification team early in the Development life cycle to understand feature list of new design/siliconRepresent sil val in CTA groups, either as a lead, sub-lead, or primary contributor - define strategy, assure all teams working on validation focused activities are aligned and coordinated.Drive design concerns into validation org as well as bring back validation concerns to CTA and design. Create a strategy to Test, Debug, and Validate the chip in question - Unit/Integration/System - Identify tools and new test cases needed and engage with the various teams to implement test cases in their plans - drive a Gap AnalysisDefine New Test, Debug, and Validation Silicon FeaturesWork with Design (Arch/Rtl/Verif/Impl …) to ensure that we have appropriate features for Debug, Validation Negotiate and Track design adoption and implementationEnsure coverage of all critical features in verification/validation and development of appropriate test plansMonitor execution of test plans & validation coverage
Job Requirements
- Bachelor or a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science with five or more years of validation experience
o 5+ years in ASIC validation or design
o Strong organization and planning skills
o Background in ASIC design and Verification
o Solid analog/digital mixed signal experience
o Highly motivated and innovative individual with a keen interest in finding and resolving silicon and platform failures
o PC system architecture knowledge and understanding of key protocols for memory, PCIe, HT, SATA, USB, etc.
o Excellent communication skills
