We are currently searching for a Software Configuration Management Engineer for one of our larger clients in the Tarrytown NY area. This opportunity is a contract opportunity.

Responsible for the software application and development processes to analyze, design, develop, test, implement and enhance software products.

Complete Description:
Applicant will maintain and administer software configuration management environments for multiple small to medium size development projects throughout the entire development cycle.

This individual will be responsible for:
- Planning, scheduling, and tracking software configuration management activities across multiple projects.
- Planning, implementing, documenting, and administering configuration control procedures across multiple projects.
- Administering maintaining, and troubleshooting source and change control repositories.
- Executing, verifying, and troubleshooting full software system builds.
- Implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting software build environments for specific projects.
- Verifying and documenting software build content.
- Defining, implementing, and documenting software deployment strategies and installation procedures.
- Working with Supply Chain and Manufacturing groups to structure software components for commercialization.
- Archiving software versions and transferring them to other departments for release and distribution.
- Contributing to continuing process improvement of all software configuration management activities and procedures.
- All activities must be performed in compliance with all regulatory, ISO 9000, and company guidelines and procedures.

- Applicant must be a self-starter, meticulous, and detail-oriented. Leadership potential is highly desirable. Ability to independently manage multiple, concurrent tasks and track to schedule a must. Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

Job Requirements

Required technical skills:
- Software configuration management experience on a medium to large team (5+ developers) through two or more full development cycles.
- Experience architecting, implementing, and troubleshooting solutions for remote software installation.
- Experience using and administering source control tools eg. Perforce, PVCS Version Manager, Surround SCM, or Subversion.
- Experience using and administering defect tracking tools eg. DevTrack, TestTrack Pro, or PVCS Tracker. 

- Experience with automated build tools eg. Automated Build studio, MSBuild, VisualBuild.
- 1+ year coding experience with VB 6.0, VB.NET or C#.
- 1+ year experience with VBScript or similar scripting language.
- Experience configuring and using virtualization tools eg. Virtual PC, VMWare Workstation.
- Experience using InstallShield tool to create and troubleshoot software installations.
