Job Title: Software Engineer 2
Location: Richardson, TX 75082
Duration: 6 months
Hrs/Wk: 40
Compensation: $41�48/hr (DOE)
Job Description:
The engineer will support the JPALS program
Considered a specialist in a specific software area or generalist in multiple software areas and recognized in their business unit.
Provides direction to team and other technical disciplines in the performance of sophisticated analysis, design and testing of complex software systems
Significant domain knowledge of department products and systems
Serve as a software architect to plan, analyze, design, test and document software of high complexity and contribute to system integratio
Recommend new tools and techniques to achieve continuous improvement in software development processes
Decisions may have significant impact on cost, schedule, and technical performance
Act as a mentor to engineers in additional areas including domain knowledge and lessons learned
Lead preparation of proposals and presentations
Estimate, track, and report project costs and schedules while managing scope & risk.
May lead cross-functional / domain teams in a Project Engineering role.
Provide input to technical & product roadmaps
Qualifications (Required):
The selected candidate must have the following demonstrated experience and skills:
1. 3�5 years of experience developing C++ software in the defense market. Those without this experience should not apply.
2. 3�5 years of experience doing detailed software design in the defense market.
3. Must have used tools such as Rational Rose, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect. Those without experience with these tools should not apply.
4. 3�5 years of experience generating software/system requirements documentation for the military market.
5. Ability to travel in support of customer meetings for around 2 weeks per six months throughout those six months.
6. Must have DoD Secret Clearance
7. Must be a U.S. Citizen
If an offer is made, a 7 year criminal background check and drug screening will be conducted. Candidate must pass both screenings to be hired.
