Job Description
CSL Plasma has an immediate opening for a Sr. Health, Safety and Environment Specialist responsible for the development and implementation of the action plans that drive the overall strategy for the company and balances health, safety and environmental regulations, company requirements, risk and cost.
Other responsibilities include:
- Professional/technical liaison for HSE management and assists with the development of a HSE strategy.
- Interprets Occupational Safety & Health Agency (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other safety and health regulations for the Plasma Centers, Lab, Plasma Logistics Center (PLC) and Corporate Office.
- Participates in HSE corporate safety steering committee. Periodically conducts committee meetings with key stakeholders regarding business statistics and trends.
- Develops programs and recommendations to decrease safety incidences and workers compensation claims.
- Follows up on HSE regulations and keeps senior HSE management and operations informed of changes.
- Drives appropriate corrective action in coordination with senior HSE management and Plasma Operations.
- Conducts site assessments of company facilities including Center operations, Corporate, PLC and Laboratory.
- Compiles, analyzes and generates Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports to comply with corporate requirements.
- Responsible for the development of training materials for HSE and Risk Management related training programs. Reviews and modifies HSE Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
Job Requirements
Successful Candidates Offer:
- BA/BS in Safety Sciences/Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or a related field or equivalent combination of relevant work experience and education required.
- Five (5) years experience in safety/risk field required.
- Ability to drive results is imperative.
- Experience in developing behavioral-based safety programs.
- Project management skills.
- Strong verbal and communications skills. Proficient as a trainer, ability to speak comfortably in front of groups of people.
- Very strong computer literacy in Word, Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Web design experience preferred.
- Ability to understand variety of regulatory standards that apply to the business and where to find information on standards and interpretations.
- Travel up to 30% of time.
