Reporting to IT Senior Director, the Senior Manager of Analysis and Reporting leads and manages Reporting IT team, in order to ensure the efficient and effective use of application systems and data structures to fulfill business objectives. This manager oversees all activities related to the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Business Intelligence and reporting solutions. Senior Manager will be participating in development of the overall Business Intelligence implementation strategy and will establish necessary core competencies in the IT organization. This individual will support the evolution of the existing reporting applications as they will be migrated to the new platform. The candidate must have a strong understanding of the current trends in data delivery and information management.
Responsibilities Leads, manages, mentors and provides day-to-day oversight of the Reporting IT team including training, assigning and managing work, providing technical direction, mentoring, appraising and overseeing employees’ performance. Develops and implements strategies to ensure the effective access, use, management and availability of information to business users and to meet business goals, in collaboration with the team. Develops and implements strategies to ensure the adoption and leveraging of the Business Intelligence solution throughout the organization, in collaboration with the Business Intelligence Team. Manages and assists the team in complex data analysis, process automation, database design and integration, and designs for the portfolio of projects. Oversees CMMI process compliance of the team and leverages SDLC activities to improve reliability quality and speed to market for Medco portfolio of projects. Supervises and directs the work of the Reporting IT team - including employees and contractors.
Job Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited college or university; or equivalent education/experience in the information technology field. 2. 5 years of previous experience leading and managing a team of systems analysts, report or software developers or related technical staff. 3. 7 years of total IT-related experience. 4. Experience developing strategies for evolving business applications or reporting systems in a complex enterprise data environment with a focus on cost effectiveness. 5. Exceptionally strong analytical skills.6. Experience managing budgets and forecasting future needs. 6. Excellent written, oral, listening and interpersonal skills. 7. Experience communicating ideas in both technical and business terms. 8. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 9. Database design/management 10. Experience including dimensional and entity relationship modeling 11. Experience with Actuate and Cognos. 12. Experience with TeraData data warehouse 13. Understanding of the current trends in data delivery and information management. 14. Ability to work off-hours and extended hours as needed to support IT processes and timelines.
