Sr. PMO Training and Communications Specialist

 

Position Objective:

The Senior Training and Communications Specialist primarily supports the Corporate Project Management Office (CPMO). The senior CPMO Training and Communications Specialist must perform as a team member in a fully operational Project Management Office with best practice business processes. This person will work with other members of the CPMO and business PMOs to strengthen project execution across the enterprise. This position is responsible for the development of the CPMO training curriculum, effectively executing training sessions based on the curriculum, continuing ongoing communications with Executive Management and the project management community through reports, the CPMO web site, e-mails, etc.

 

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Develop, or coordinate development of, project management training materials that cover the CPMO training curriculum. This may include:

    • Methodology / business project management lifecycle

    • The project management system (Primavera)

    • Risk, issue, quality, procurement, resource, scope, time and cost management

    • Governance

    • Communication

    • Metrics

    • Other areas as needs are identified

  • Effectively deliver, or coordinate delivery of, project management training materials through interactive training sessions, presentations, workshops, E-Learning material, etc.

  • Participate in COMPANY's Lean Six Sigma initiative, maintaining and delivering PM-related training

  • Prepare Executive Management reports / dashboards and communications

  • General support of project managers, assisting in applying the business project management lifecycle and developing project plans

  • General support of other CPMO specialists

  • Develop, edit and maintain CPMO web content

 


Job Requirements

 

Experience:  

  • 5 - 7 years business project and program management; operational improvement / change integration a plus  
  • 3+ years designing and delivering training programs

 

Competencies/Skills:

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Dynamic; strong motivational skills
  • Adaptable to rapidly changing environments/
  • Demonstrated presentation skills including development of well executed executive management materials
  • Aptitude for engaging equally well among all levels of associates and backgrounds (e.g. operations, sales, IT, etc)
  • Excellent attention to detail, follow-through and organizational skills
  • Highly skilled in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint
  • Self-directed and proactive; able to think beyond the immediate problem
  • Primavera or similar project management software experience
  • Ability to translate strategy and objectives into manageable, step by step action plans
  • Team oriented
  • Proven success in delivering projects

 

Knowledge: 

  • Project management
  • Project metrics
  • Web tools, SharePoint

 

Education: 

  • This position requires a Bachelor's Degree.
  • PMP (desired).
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt Certification a plus
