JOB DESCRIPTION

Located in BOWLING GREEN, KY, this position provides support, administration and implementation of strategic direction of the Information Technology Department in accordance with organizational policies and goals. Ensures stable operation of company's information processing systems and makes upgrades as necessary. Helps business operations utilize information systems to improve efficiency. Keeps computer equipment, hardware, and software updated to meet organizational needs and maintains enterprise architecture and standards. Follows appropriate programming procedures. This position is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Administration and monitoring of network infrastructure components including switches, routers, firewalls, telecommunications equipment and other peripherals.

  • Install, support and maintain server hardware, operating systems and applications.

  • Troubleshoot, isolate and resolve infrastructure issues.

  • Evaluate and analyze technology needs.  Recommend and implement applicable upgrades and modifications.

  • Plan and execute hardware and software deployment, providing expert technical support.

  • Assist with business continuity and disaster recovery planning, documentation, testing and implementation.

  • Ensure stable operation and efficient performance of company voice and data networks.

  • Perform network traffic inspection and analysis to optimize performance and bandwidth utilization.

  • Support multi-site LAN/WAN environment, providing effective solutions for growing organization with highly mobile and disperse workforce.

  • Implement and support enterprise technologies and maintains the firms Enterprise Architecture and Standards program.

  • Assist with creation and deployment of policies, procedures and best practices for administrative and end user functions.

  • Responsibilities are not all inclusive, additional duties may be assigned.


Job Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science required; MBA preferred.

  • Five years work experience in network administration of client/server environment.

  • Microsoft Certified Senior Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification, Cisco CCNA, CCNP or comparable certifications required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of Windows Server 2003, Active Directory and Group Policy with ability to learn new and customized applications.

  • Extensive experience and knowledge of TCP/IP networking, routing protocols, Cisco IOS, security concepts and best practices.

  • Experience configuring and administering network and user backup solutions.

  • Experience designing and supporting branch office and remote VPN connections.

  • Solid knowledge of VoIP, video conferencing, and other collaborative technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, having the ability to work in a team environment and explain computing concepts to technical and non-technical staff.

  • Ability to be self-directed and work within project timelines and budget.

  • Strong work ethic with ability to handle complex tasks.

  • Supervisory experience required.

  • Knowledge of enterprise software and services required.

  • GIS knowledge and abilities are a plus.

  • Possess strong computer skills, including a thorough knowledge of Microsoft® Windows XP, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Must be willing to travel as required to support remote locations and company events.

  • Valid state driver’s license required.
