Position Description: Overview: Provide technical support for PeopleSoft Payroll Operations. Candidate must be able to work independently and provide timely response to payroll operational needs. Responsibilities: - Candidate must have proven skills in PeopleSoft 8.9 Payroll and Time and Labor modules. - Demonstrated technical experience using PeopleSoft Application Engine, PeopleTools, SQL, SQR, Cobol and Control-M, Unix and Oracle. - Excellent communications skills. - Partners with business analysts to provide optimal support. - Manages customer satisfaction process taking accountability for addressing concerns. - Provides application support and enhancements to existing applications. Defines system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives. Coordinates the efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems. - Analyzes, designs, and prepares or selects new systems/technologies in order to meet internal and external user requirements. - Provides estimates of work effort for client projects. - Functions as a technical resource for the other team members. - Provide production support including: o Monitor batch processing. o Monitors ticket queue to work on new tickets. Provides ticket updates based on progress of work. o Coordinates with HRIS Production Support team for ticket resolution. o Provides communication to HRIS and other interested parties for emergency tickets. o Provide on-call support (within a rotation) for production. - Provide support for applications development: o Works with DBA team for production moves. o Works to reduce emergency changes outside of normal change window. o Works on new methods for reducing manual IT and HRIS work. o Work with other areas of IT to fulfill file transfer and scheduling requests. - Supports existing systems and large projects. - Responsible for project organization and execution and participates in design, assists in vendor evaluation, implementation, and management of: multiple projects. - Provides technical direction to analyst staff in the development and implementation of systems or in problem solving. - Performs analysis and makes recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency. - May design data bases and data dictionary criteria if no DBA role exists. - Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic. - Makes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources. - Provides technical training, guidance, and resource support for Departmental staff. - Coordinates conversions and upgrades to vendor systems. - Performs as a project lead and directs systems analysts. Provides leadership and coordination on projects assigned to systems analysts. - Business knowledge required of functionality to provide the best design and technical solutions. - PeopleSoft reporting experience/reporting experience with other tools - query, Crystal reporting, other reporting tools such as XML Publisher.
Job Requirements
Requirements: - Bachelor Degree, with a technology or business emphasis, or equivalent education/experience. - 7 years previous experience - Experience in systems analysis and/or programming required with project management or leadership responsibilities. - Excellent Communication and partnering skills. - Position will be located in the Dallas office and will report to IT in Minneapolis.
