Ockham is a global provider of resources to the Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Industry. We work with companies involved with clinical trials and other market approval processes to help them deliver their products on time and on budget. One of our clients in Kenilworth, NJ is seeking a Contract Analyst to join their team. This is a contract position.
Project, Process, Strategic Planning and Analysis
• Collects and collates quantitative and/or qualitative data to provide analytical support for the development of sourcing strategies and projects
• Assists in collecting and tracking purchasing and supplier performance data for management reporting and projects
• May participate in performing cost/price analysis and other financial modeling in support of major sourcing and/or buying decisions
Procurement Administration and Policies Implementation
• Monitors compliance with terms and conditions of standards and customized contracts and POs; escalates issues to management
• Assists in the implementation of more efficient procurement practices (e.g., E-Procurement, summary billing, etc.)
• Works with colleagues to identify opportunities and gaps in procurement policies and processes
• May participate in the preparation of bid packages/quotations (RFQ) to suppliers in accordance with S-P Corporate procurement guidelines
Contract Administration and Operations
• Provides support in the development of contractual terms and conditions
• Assists with tracking and compiling contract performance data (e.g., total spend processed via automated processes, average cycle time, etc.)
• Maintains and updates contract data and provisions

BA/BS in business, science, or other technical disciplines
Skills

• Shows basic knowledge of sourcing plans to assist in developing and implementing sourcing initiatives
• Applies basic knowledge of opportunity assessment tools to help conduct benchmark, market, and spend analyses
• Displays broad knowledge of the methodologies used to track value and to analyze performance metrics/measures for reporting
• Understands and applies basic knowledge of contract and commercial procurement procedures, and guidelines to provide support in contract negotiations and projects
• Displays basic skills in the contracting process and applies basic legal concepts knowledge to assist in developing proposals and contract correspondence
• Exhibits basic understanding of data collation, financial analysis (e.g., ratios, statistical sensitivity, etc.), and financial statements to provide meaningful inputs for sourcing and procurement decision-making
• Shows basic knowledge of project implementation procedures to carry out sourcing project tasks
• Demonstrates basic understanding of the sourcing and procurement process redesign/continuous improvement concepts and their importance to process excellence
• Demonstrates perseverance and strong follow-up skills within all levels of the organization
• Demonstrates strong computer skills, especially MS Power Point, Word, Excel and Access programs
