Job Title: Supervisor Compounding (2nd Shift)
Hours: Mon - Fri, 3p - 11:40pm
Department: Plant Administration
Reports To: Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage raw material inventory management of hazardous Chemicals.
- Work with Production Planning and Warehouse departments to coordinate scheduled and unscheduled material flow between departments and plants.
- Documented review of all Batch related paperwork (Batch Record Folders, requisitions etc.).
- Order and maintain needed operational supplies for Compounding Department (machine parts, labels etc.)
- Computer review and maintenance of department employee batch and indirect labor scanning. Monitor actual vs. standard batch labor cost.
- Monitor and manage department compliance with CGMP’s and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Performs Deviation Investigations
- Responsible for SOP, WI revisions
- Weighing, checking of raw materials and compounding batches as necessary.
- Perform Active raw material calculations (potency), handling and occasional weighing and checking of hazardous raw materials.
- Maintain department adherence to machinery and systems preventive maintenance schedules.
Job Requirements
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
- Responsible for documented training of Assistant Compounder / Compounder employees, including safety training and monitoring.
- Assigns specific duties to employees as necessary.
- Coordinates with Manager, Maintenance Department and/or outside vendors for the repair, upkeep or replacement of department equipment and facility.
- Supervises and maintains orderly staging of: materials to be compounded, compounded materials and materials for inter-plant shipment.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Demonstrated proficiency in personnel supervision (e.g., at Group-Leader and/or Assistant Supervisor level); good computer and office skills. College degree. Proficient in Nova Manage, SAP, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Lotus Notes.
- 5+ years Supervisory experience in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing industry
- 5+ years of experience working in the Compounding department
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Very good English reading and comprehension skills required to understand and communicate detailed SOP, Formula and Manufacturing Instruction.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Very good math skills required in multiplication, addition, subtraction & division. Thorough understanding of Metric System. Good understanding of theoretical units (million units, gram base, etc.)
REASONING ABILITY Ability to thoroughly comprehend and effectively communicate the meaning of CGMP’s, SOP’s, and to identify compliance and non-compliance with same.
