Job Description
Key Role:
Support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Core Process 3 (CP3) initiatives. Ensure operational capability for both production and test server and application environments. Maintain responsibility for UNIX systems engineering support, including operating systems installation, file systems management, adding and configuring devices on a Sun and Dell platforms, account management, and configuring and managing UNIX server network services. Install, configure, and troubleshoot UNIX-based and third party COTS software, including databases, Web servers, and J2EE application servers. Monitor, evaluate, and optimize systems performance, develop disaster recovery procedures, perform systems backups, and implement systems security policies across the AFRL unclassified and classified enterprises. Provide tier 1 and 2 level support as an UNIX systems administrator, including troubleshooting within the enterprise, hardware problems, and resolving end-user problem reports. This position is located in Rome, NY.
Job Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with Solaris 10 and 10+
-3+ years of experience with Web server and database administration
-3+ years of experience with J2EE
-3+ years of experience with Shell scripting
-Ability to obtain a security clearance
-AA or AS degree
Additional Qualifications:
-Experience with Cisco managed switches and VLANs
-Experience with SAN and NAS devices, including iSCSI or Fiber
-Experience with OpenSSL
-Experience with managing generation and distribution
-Experience with smartcard and PKI
-Knowledge of LDAP and Active Directory
-Knowledge of COMSEC and INFOSEC
-Ability to install and configure Apache httpd, Oracle 10g, and PostgreSQL
-Security+ or Network+ Certification
