Perot Systems Corporation is a worldwide provider of information technology services and business solutions to a broad range of clients. We are currently looking for a Systems Integration Specialist to join our team in Plano, TX.
Job Responsibilities:
This position will support a new business opportunity with one of Perot Systems' largest and most respected healthcare clients. This is an IT technical support role specializing in virtualization working with Windows and VMWare. This is a hands-on technical role that requires experience with integrating technology, system development and implementation to deployment.
You will be responsible for the following:
Assisting with the development of architecture strategies and definitions for the core hosting infrastructure environment
Participate in capacity management activities (forecasting, analysis, and problem solving)
Participate in application and server consolidation efforts
Leverage industry publications and knowledge bases to provide thought leadership and best practices for data center design and management, capacity planning, and future infrastructure solutions and products
Required Skills:
Experience going into an environment to access, document, and provide recommendations for future upgrade and installs
Experience and knowledge with integrating technology, pre-post implementation, deployment and support
Qualified candidate will have experience working with VmWare and MS SQL Server or three yrs combined experience working with VMware implementations or related system integration technology and education
Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communications skills including strong documentation skills
Desired Skills:
3-5 yrs experience working with VMware 3.5, VMware Installs, and P2V's as well as other server migrations
Storage Integration experience - NAS, IBM's storage line, NetApp Solutions
Experience with Intel Blade Servers
Clustering knowledge and experience
Experience with all versions of MS Windows
Design and implementation of backup/recovery solutions
Experience with providing customer training, both hands-on skills transfer and formal classroom type training
Well-organized
Ability to work closely with clients and deal with them in a professional manner
Ability to speak with enthusiasm and confidence to retain customers and garner respect of staff
Excellent interpersonal skills
Linux experience on Intel
Perl Scripting Language
Minimum Educational Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related experience
Minimum Certifications or Other Professional Credentials:
VMWare certified professional (VCP) certification desired
NACE or NACP certification (NetApp certification) preferred
*This position requires up to 25% travel
