Job Description
We are currently looking for a technician who has hands-on experience with UPS systems to work in 24/7 critical data center environments. This is a non-exempt position. The position may involve working nights, weekends and holidays and will involve extensive travel.
Although the position places particular emphasis on UPS systems, other relevant experience will be considered a plus:
- Switchgear (required)
- Generator systems (required)
- ATS equipment (required)
- UPS systems (required)
- Load Banks
- Battery systems
- Power Distribution Units (PDU)
- Chilled water plants
- Computer room HVAC equipment
- SCADA and LAN based equipment-monitoring systems testing
- Infrared survey and diagnostic work
- Experience with any of the following types of test equipment is also desired:
- Oscilloscopes
- Power quality meters
- High potential test equipment
- Infrared camera and survey equipment
- Load Banks
- Other handheld measurement and test devices
- Responsibilities:
- Provide product installation, startup and commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support to customers
- Learn and implement the Lee Commissioning process
- Function as a liaison between customer and vendors/subcontractors to ensure good communication
- Focus on the customer
Job Requirements
High School diploma required
Experience Requirements:
- Ten years experience with UPS systems.
- Safety experience with knowledge of lockout and tagout procedures
- Administrative discipline for filling out reports and logs
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Must be familiar with Microsoft Office programs, and other communication tools
- Extensive travel is required
- Pluses (Not required, but preferred)
- Commissioning experience
- Formal electrical and electronics education or industry specific training with certificates
- Bachelor of Science in engineering or related fields
- Current Active Top Secret Clearance (DoD) or the ability to be cleared
