Job Description
The Training and Development Specialist is responsible for the development of training programs and policy/procedure manuals for the Company’s operational staff and for the identification of training needs within the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Writing and presenting proposals for new or modified training programs and/or courses.
- Delivering cross-organizational training as needs require, analyzing and researching training issues.
- Designing web-based training and policy/procedure content, developing and preparing classroom material and reviewing all written training documentation to ensure quality and consistency.
- Work closely with operational management to obtain feedback on training, analyze results of training programs, identify training needs and communicate results to management.
Job Requirements

Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years equivalent work experience may substitute for education)

3 or more years experience in the development of technical training programs and documents
- Experience developing web-based training and documentation.
- Advanced PC skills in Windows and Microsoft Office products, (especially competent in Excel, Word, Visio and Powerpoint)
- Strong analytical and research skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively deliver organizational training programs/courses
Job Specific Requirements (Preferred):
- Bachelor’s degree in Education
- Knowledge of the insurance industry and group insurance products is a plus
- Technical writing experience
- Working knowledge of HTML
