Position Summary

As a Transportation Sales Intern, you’ll learn the process of establishing strong customer and carrier relationships as you work with your team to secure and ensure delivery of profitable freight and meet branch revenue goals. You will be given the opportunity to add value to daily business operations, while being thoroughly trained in a fast paced, 3^rd party logistics environment.  We are looking for enthusiastic and eager individuals who aspire for excellence, and want to learn our business from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• On the job training for learning to identify customer needs and provide solutions
• Maintain and build effective relationships with customers
• Maintain and build effective relationships with outside carriers
• Negotiate rates with outside carriers to maximize profitability
• Monitor service for all shipments
• Maintain contact with other J.B. Hunt divisions for daily outsourcing needs
• Other duties as required

• Currently enrolled in a 4 year college, preferably a Junior or Senior
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to communicate and negotiate effectively
• Enthusiastic, dedicated to the challenge of helping other people
• Self-motivated and well-rounded
• Strong detail and organizational skills
