JOB TITLE: Travel Agency & Distribution Sales Manager
LOCATION: Coral Springs, FL
REPORTS TO: VP Distribution
POSITION SUMMARY:
This positions primary job function is to establish and maintain superior partner relationships with key travel and distribution companies including traditional agencies and OTA’s. Position supports existing sales programs strengthening key business relationships with providers and suppliers of services. Position will also seek new sales / distribution channel opportunities and ensure existing accounts are being maximized in marketing and promotional opportunities. Position will work closely with internal Vantage brand management to educate staff and members on opportunities within each channel. Position also represents Vantage at industry related functions and conducts necessary sales presentations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Sales
· Lead the sales effort in establishing and maintaining travel industry relationships with agency outlets (including TMC/Consortia), OTA and Corporate/ Leisure Transient Travel Markets.
· Identifying opportunities to help members increase revenue and shift share.
· Identify top Vantage brand members who will benefit from participation in various OTA and TMC/Consortia markets and work with travel buyer to ensure proper placement to maximize revenue in all distribution channels.
·Establish relationships with travel buyers by attending business reviews, travel shows, sales calls, cold calls, etc.
· Oversee coordination of contracts between travel buyers.
·Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting.
·Conduct educational seminars to key partners and Vantage Brand Management and Members.
·Discuss advertising opportunities.
·Initiate annual contract renewals for accounts.
·Communicate to entire EDD team progress and changes related to travel industry channels.
·Travel 25-40%.
Account Management
·Coordinate with Distribution Administration team on maintenance and growth of accounts to increase customer satisfaction and member revenue’s.
·Utilize marketing resources to sell Vantage brands and offers designed for the target clientele. This includes working with marketing department to develop promotional materials as well as creative displays as needed for numerous trade shows and vendor events throughout the year.
·Use professional sales techniques to negotiate the best possible terms and conditions that satisfy customer (internal and external) requirements.
·Articulate the financial benefits of the Vantage solution to close sales opportunities.
·Build trust through effective contact planning, data gathering, need development, objection handling, interpersonal skills, and closing.
Leadership
·Seek new revenue opportunities throughout the organization and use initiative and resources to capitalize on them. Clearly communicate needs and coordinate with your supervisor to address those needs.
·Model proper sales skills to others and take a leadership role through personal and professional development. Utilize corporate resources available for this purpose, gain knowledge of the industry and attend educational seminars and networking resources.
·Calculate risk versus the objectives and follow through once the course of action is defined.
·Share with others experience and skills that enhance the overall performance of each segment.
Communication
·Communicate with other management team members regarding progress toward goals, resources needed, and resources consumed. Use company resources to enhance performance.
·Communicate expectations, goals and vision for each travel industry channel.
·Maintain timely communications with key customers. Understand brand performance and customer issues and trends.
·Develop effective presentations, both oral and written, that clearly articulate recommendations and conclusions.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
· Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
·Five years sales or marketing experience in the hotel or travel industry with emphasis on electronic sales and/or consortia/travel agent sales.
·Two years proven experience in revenue generation and accountability for revenue results.
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

·Requires working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

·Must have ability to manage the customer decision and relationship process.
·Must be able to scan and assess competitive arena to refine/improve customer value proposition.
