Job Description

Summary:

Responsible for the development of rate quotes for Managed Vision Care contracts. Participate in new business underwriting process and analysis of existing book of business. Partner with all levels of Associates within Davis Vision, affiliate and parent companies and customers to achieve financial goals in relation to pricing and claims analysis.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepare fully insured and self insured rates and renewal documentations in conjunction with Sales and Marketing staff.

• Follow standard underwriting procedures using Davis Vision data to develop rates.

• Assist VP of underwriting to maintain pricing templates and utilization assumptions.

• Update vertical market reports, maintain and develop trend analysis, client utilization, service usage and non-standard loss ratio reporting and analyses.

• Prepare Cost projections, value plan changes or changes to Provider fee schedules upon request.

• Perform ad-hoc financial and plan analyses as needed to be used in the development of proposed rates.

• Use desktop tools available to assist in the most accurate projection of rates/claims.

• Log in all cases worked on.

• Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of data elements, data definitions and data relationships used in required business analysis and report development.

• Adhere to privacy and confidential and proprietary company policies and procedures (i.e. HIPAA).

• Participate in any/all training and educational activities necessary to fulfill at least the minimum requirements as specified within your departmental goals. This is in addition to, the completion of any activities necessary for the maintenance of professional affiliations or organizational requirements.

• Maintain the cleanliness of all equipment, workstations and the overall facility on a daily basis.

• Complete additional responsibilities as assigned, as required by changing business needs.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• Minimum of three years accounting experience

• Actuarial, Analytical, cost accounting experience, Healthcare industry or group insurance background a plus

• Ability to prioritize and organize tasks and meetings, resulting in timely and effective completion of projects

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
