Job Description
Position Purpose
To assist department manager in the daily management of collection activities, assuring departmental and client goals are achieved. Provide direct supervision and monitoring of subordinates; assist in the daily activities of the collection unit.
Essential Job Functions
- Have full range of motion in wrists, finders, and thumbs and be able to sit at a desk or to stand for extended periods. Walk various distances frequently and repeatedly to assist subordinates.
- Have normal or corrective vision to read computer screens and printouts.
- Possess normal or corrected hearing ability to understand individuals on the telephone.
- Communicate verbally to agency personnel.
Specific Duties
- Monitor unit and individual quotas
- Provide routine reporting and feedback to staff and upper management
- Manage the daily activities of collection unit
- Manage and maintain optimum workflow of the unit
- Monitor follow-up in work queues
- Assure company and client standards are maintained
- Assist in training and provide feedback on progress of subordinates in a collection unit
Secondary Functions/Duties/Responsibilities
- Provide collection assistance to account representatives by negotiating with consumers and assisting with hard to collect accounts
- Provide needed instructions to obtain contact with and/or promises from consumers
- Implement departmental policies and procedures as requested by upper management
- Assure and maintain compliance to company, state, and federal regulations
- Monitor attendance policies for unit
- Inform management of policy or procedural infractions
- Consistently maintain a professional demeanor and image with clients and co-workers
- Fulfill other duties as assigned

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College hours in related fields preferred
- Management and/or training experience preferred
