VICE PRESIDENT, CONTRACT AND PROGRAM SERVICES

Summary

This position will report to the Senior Vice President of Contracting and Program Services who has oversight for contracting strategy and program development in the areas of Surgery, Anesthesia, Medical, Respiratory, and Medical/Surgical Distribution. The Vice President incumbent will have responsibility for providing strategic direction and management of the contracting areas as well as programmatic areas related to Novaplus and Standardization. The successful candidate's focus will be on developing strategies to drive enhanced member value from these programs and overseeing strategy execution by providing leadership and guidance for multiple operational teams.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for strategy development and execution.

• Lead complex negotiations and supplier relationships.

• Collaboration with multiple business units (internal to Novation; external across Alliances) to ensure program integration within contracting portfolios.

• Oversee revenue and expense budget for multiple programs.

• Ensure appropriate leadership of councils and task forces; ensure appropriate use of marketing resources and use of analytical data to develop strategies and maximize member value from programs.

• Will participate on the Senior Leadership Team of Novation with cross team champion responsibilities.

• Will also maintain business relationships with suppliers and assist with key member issues.

• Will provide a positive work environment and will hire, train, coach and develop staff.

Job Requirements

• Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration preferred

• 10 years of demonstrated success in the healthcare supply chain specifically related to materials management or Pharmacy.

Demonstrated success in developing program strategies in the healthcare industry and responsibility for execution of those strategies with positive outcomes

• Working knowledge of the Group Purchasing industry

• Excellent communication skills

• Well organized with ability to multi task and prioritize

• Demonstrated customer service focus

• Managerial courage and political savvy

• Demonstrated ability to motivate and coach others for success

• Experience in working in a matrixed environment - ability to work collaboratively to get work done and achieve results.

• Demonstrated performance as a creative individual, a self starter who takes initiatives, and a strategic thinker

• Broad and detailed understanding of the healthcare environment and key strategic initiatives of VHA Inc.

• Skills, knowledge, expertise, and experience necessary to integrate multiple strategic and tactical business initiatives across business units

• 25% - 50% travel required
