Job Description
Empire Investment Holdings is a private investment firm focused exclusively on the acquisition and strategic management of non-core business units from the Global 2000. Position is an integral part of a senior leadership team responsible for developing relevant, business-driven human resources practices that align the workforce with the firm’s business goals with strong support of the firm’s focus on quality, culture and growth. Position reports to the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the HR departments of the firm and its portfolio companies
- Manage and support the various HR staff located in multiple locations
- Provides oversight to executives at multiple locations to provide strategic direction on business group initiatives including talent & performance management, coaching, employee relations, staffing, training and employee engagement
- Responsible for conducting HR due diligence of prospective investment targets and reporting findings to the investment committee
- Ensure the effective management of the department, including strategic assessment, payroll, recruiting, benefit administration, performance reviews, staffing plans, union relations and negotiations, personnel records, training, employee relations and employee communications
- Develop and maintain tracking and accountability system for performance of all HR programs (i.e. meetings, orientation, training, etc.)
- Administer all current HR programs, systems, policies and procedures
- Compile, analyze and make recommendations related to a variety of internal and external personnel data, for example, pay practices, benefits costs and programs, hiring and turnover trends
- Ensure compliance with all relevant fair employment practice laws and other government labor regulations
- Be a consummate supporter, communicator and inspiration agent of the vision, mission and values of the firm
- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with matters of discretion
- Provide strategic insight to the executive team on the firm’s resource allocation and up-to-date market knowledge about relevant HR developments and best practices
- Build the firm’s HR organization into a cost effective, high performance disciplined function
- Develop and implement department goals, policies and programs to reflect the desired standards of performance for the HR department
- Coordinate the preparation of HR reports, special analyses and informational market reports
- Meet regularly with the CEO and other executives to explain and discuss the HR activities of the firm
- Serve as a liaison with third party providers, including payroll processing companies and insurance brokers
- Train and manage the professional development of the HR staff

Job Requirements
- A Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- MBA preferred
- Ten plus years experience with all aspects related to a global HR department
- International experience, with a focus on Europe and Asia
- Experience as a senior level HR executive with a proven track record of driving culture change
· Superior leadership and communication skills demonstrated in multiple environments
- Experience with legal aspects regarding employment law, as well as local, state and federal laws regarding employees, wages, salary and regulations
- Highest level of integrity and able to handle and manage confidential information
- Work requires willingness to travel and work a flexible schedule
- Ten plus years of senior management experience
- Experienced in conducting the HR due diligence of acquisitions
- Significant experience in handling employee grievances, including matters related to claims asserted by employees falling into protective classes
- Significant experience in conflict resolution
- Significant leadership abilities in team building and staff management experience with proven success in developing strong relationships with other executives
- High energy and enthusiasm to perform in a self-managed work environment
- A demonstrated ability to approach problem solving with creativity and innovation
- A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
- The ability to problem solve with all appropriate parties, regardless of their position within the firm
- The ability to synthesize information, use sound judgment, formulate conclusions, and articulate recommendations in a way that is meaningful and valuable
- Superior analytical and organizational skills
