Job Description
The Vocational Specialist will work as assigned by the Director to accommodate changing needs within the program. They will assist in the development and piloting of new programs/services to new or existing populations. Additionally, the Vocational Specialist will work with assigned consumers, gather and manage data, create reports related to assignments, and perform related billing functions as required. They will also assume a variety of assignments to meet the changing needs within the department. This could include performing the duties of other departmental staff in their absence, or supplementing the current work of staff during peak times.
Job Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field is required. One year experience with the disabled population is preferred. An agency approved driver’s license is also required.
Ability to function with minimal oversight; creativity; strong organizational skills and excellent follow through; ability to prioritize and multi-task and maintain flexibility in a changing environment; ability to problem solve; ability to produce professionally written reports, manage data, and respond promptly to the requests of internal and external customers; excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; proficient with basic Microsoft Office applications; willingness to transport consumers in a personal vehicle, as dictated by the task assignment.
