Senior .Net Engineer

Medical Specialties Distributors is a leading distributor of healthcare products and biomedical rentals and services to the healthcare provider community. MSD has 8 medical supply distribution and biomedical equipment service centers located throughout the United States.

MSD is looking for a Senior .Net Software Engineer to create new internal software and Web applications from functional requirements and technical designs, and to assist with modifying, debugging, and enhancing existing applications.  The position will report to the Director of IT and will work closely in cross-section of other department representatives, playing a critical role in the design, creation and support of the Company’s operating systems.

Requires a 4 year degree in information systems and 6-10 years Developer/Programming experience, including Project Management experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Design, create and document complex operating systems and Web applications in .Net framework.
•   Manage all elements of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - design, develop, enhance, test, support and document.
•   Working collaboratively with users and technical peers you will create detailed technical design specifications based upon expressed User requirements and a solid understanding of the Company’s goals and objectives.
• Document and provide team members and management with ongoing status of all activities and issues to ensure that all project activities are completed on time and within budget.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

Job Requirements

• Thorough understanding of the .Net Framework and related technologies.

• Solid foundation in analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to lead and manage projects and coordinate the activities of other team members.

• Strong knowledge of .Net application design and development techniques and processes.

  Extensive knowledge of current software development technologies, standards and best practices.

• Knowledge of the Visual Studio Integrated Development Environment and associated tools, VB.net,C#, HTML, and ASP.

• Strong SQL Server Database Knowledge.

• Knowledge of API’s and Web Services.

• Excellent verbal and written business and technical communication skills in order to provide project status reports and raise issues to the management team and/or appropriate team members on a regular basis.

• Microsoft Certification.

• Experience developing SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and views.

• Experience creating Crystal Reports is a plus.
