Job Description

We are curently recruiting for a Wealth Management Consultant for a direct hire position.  Our client located in Dalls TX. 
 

Wealth Management Services (WMS) assists our Financial Advisors in building their business by working with the Advisor to market to their clients and by providing solutions for their clients' financial services needs. In essence, the purpose of WMS is to help the Advisor succeed in total wealth management services. WMS is divided into several resource groups, including Practice Development, Financial Consulting, Annuity & Insurance Planning, Advanced Case Design, IMS Field Support and CompassGOLD Field Support.

The Financial Consulting Group is designed to provide sales support, marketing support and product support to 1st Global advisors in the field on investment and wealth management solutions. The group assists advisors in all facets of the investment proposal process--product selection, proposal generation, and sales technique.



The Group is divided into regions in order to provide each Advisor with a strong relationship and one-on-one contact with their Wealth Management Consultant .



MISSION AND SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Wealth Management Consultant supports Financial Advisors in the advancement and success of their financial services practice and is the Advisor's first point of contact for planning strategies and product and educational support. Each Financial Consulting Consultant is available to offer guidance to Advisors about client cases and situations, available and appropriate products and solutions, including Method 10 planning, marketing and sales coaching, business goals, conducting discovery meetings and creating proposed portfolios. The Wealth Management Consultant is the first level of Advisor supervision, and assists the Advisor in navigating basic compliance and regulatory issues.

In addition, the Wealth Management Consultant is responsible for developing and presenting continuing education to advisors through MATRIX training, Morningstar conference calls, and WIN Complete Planner monthly coaching calls.




KEY JOB FUNCTIONS

All responsibilities are generally performed on a daily basis, unless otherwise noted. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Over the telephone, the Consultant assists Financial Advisors with proactive case management and analysis of existing and new client portfolios, portfolio design, client wealth management strategies, cross selling, marketing guidance, compliance supervision and sales coaching.
  • The Consultant develops rapport with the Financial Advisors in his/her region to proactively engage them over the telephone and in person, when the opportunity presents, in order to develop prospective sales opportunities, including uncovering the next logical opportunity for a client solution on investment, estate planning, insurance and retirement planning issues. The Consultant assists advisors through successful presentation and implementation of client portfolios.
  • The Consultant performs analyses on existing client portfolios, adhering to Method 10 guidelines.
  • The Consultant answers general investment-related and business processing questions from advisors.
  • The Consultant creates materials directed at educating advisors and effectively presents to the Advisor those materials.
  • The Consultant performs research on a wide variety of investment-related products while staying abreast of product changes and new product introductions.
  • The Consultant will maintain all Quality Assurance standards and Pivotal standards.


ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS

  • Some travel may be required to make presentations to advisors and for other educational events.
  • Review software packages and make recommendations to supervisor.
  • May be called on to help train new employees.
  • May be called on to write articles regarding wealth management for all 1st Global publications.


Job Requirements



QUALIFICATIONS

  • An intermediate to advanced knowledge of investments (i.e., equities and fixed income), portfolio design theory and other financial products (i.e. Mutual funds, VAs, DPPs and LPs), and insurance.
  • As the first level of advisor supervision, a general knowledge of compliance and regulatory issues is required.
  • College degree (with a preferred emphasis in Wealth Management, Accounting or Finance).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in direct sales in the financial services industry with a customer service focus.
  • Series 7, 24, and 66 securities licenses and the Life, Accident and Health Insurance License (or Series 24 within first 90 days of employment).
  • Working towards or already obtained Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred. Attainment of CFP within 24 mos of employment required for position.
  • The Director will be required to continue education within the industry by pursuing additional licensing, designations, etc., as defined by the Manager.


SKILLS

  • Must be able to communicate abstract investment and wealth management concepts over the telephone and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Must be able to build and maintain long-term relationships with 1st Global advisors.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills, a clear understanding of the wealth management process, and an understanding of marketing financial services.
  • Must have proficiency in creating presentations.

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task and prioritize jobs independently.

  • Must have strong computer skills, including expert proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Experience with Principia Pro or Morningstar Advisor Workstation and Streetscape® desirable.

  • Better than average math aptitude.

    • Experience with the accounting profession helpful.
    • Tax and estate planning experience preferred.
