What Am I Worth?

man-holding-question-mark Most Americans work for only one reason: money. This is true of employees from warehouse or construction workers to top-earning actors and singers. It is essential that we each earn a living. Hopefully we are lucky enough to get a job doing what we love and what we are passionate about. Making a difference is a priority of many people. Many workers fresh out of college take jobs in industries that inspire them, rather than what earns them the most money. This opportunity to discover which fields or industries inspire you is wonderful and cannot be replicated. Later in life, family obligations may become more pressing or the need to save for retirement may force you to make choices about earning more money. Employees during this time find themselves asking “what am I worth?” This question is completely normal and everyone asks it. When taking a new position, many new employees accept the offered salary but question in the back of their minds “how much am I worth?”
