Continuing Work After Retirement

“Retirement jobs” – no, this is not an oxymoron.  Many baby boomers and seniors are seeking out further employment after retirement.  In particular, many are looking for part-time jobs for seniors.  Some seniors need extra income or medical insurance, others are looking for personal satisfaction in doing something they enjoy, and some are simply bored and want something to do after retiring.  Times are changing, and many people are working well beyond the traditional age of retirement.  Employers are now recognizing the hard work ethic and experience these seniors can bring to their company. The Internet age has begun, and people now have the opportunity to learn and do things they could never do before, all at the click of a button. One of the opportunities that has increased in recent years is online employment. The Internet has redefined “working from home” as email and other forms of online communication allow employees to communicate with employers immediately. Online employment includes some of the following positions: Artists and photographers, writers and editors, graphic designers and Interpreters and translators.

The workday is getting longer and more stressful. Parents are away from home up to 12 hours a day. Employees are forced to spend hard-earned salaries on power wardrobes. They commute long distances at the expense of their pocketbook, their safety and the environment.
