Fortune and the Council on Economic Priorities, a nonprofit research firm, assemble the annual list of America’s Best Companies for Minorities. To assess the true impact of a company’s overall diversity efforts, the survey includes information on the percentage of minority new hires, the number of minorities with leadership roles and minority turnover rate compared to that of whites. Topping the list is Advantica Restaurant Group, where one-third of the managers and officials are minorities.
